What’s it Like Snowmobiling in Remote + Historic Colorado Town?
It's no secret that the state of Colorado serves as an outdoor playground for residents and visitors alike from all walks of life.
While skiing and snowboarding are the most prevalent winter activities that are enjoyed in the winter months, the state's snowy terrain also serves as a great setting for things like sledding, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.

However, you're not going to find too many people riding snowmobiles on, say, Vail Mountain recreationally. This type of activity requires a more desolate setting and one tiny, historic Colorado town has become a hidden gem for the high-adrenaline winter sport.
What It's Like Snowmobiling on Colorado's Ophir Pass
Just outside of the upper-class picturesque ski town of Telluride, Colorado sits a town that dates back to the state's early days known as Ophir.
Established in 1881, Ophir is home to a couple hundred permanent residents, a town hall, a post office, and not much else.
However, the terrain just outside of the city limits on Ophir Pass is a mecca for snowmobiling.
It's here that snowmobilers of advanced skill levels cruise up steep mountainsides, take their sleds off of huge jumps, and whirl around in the powder, all of which makes for a high-adrenaline good time.
Ophir Pass is a mostly unspoiled, mountainous part of the Colorado wilderness with amazing views that probably look even more amazing while airborne on a snowmobile.
