Colorado's Overland Park Golf Course: The Oldest West of the Mississippi
Located at 1801 South Huron Street on the south end of Denver, Overland Park Golf Course was established in 1895.
Originally known as the Denver Country Club, the golf course adopted the name Overland Golf Course a time later and eventually landed on Overland Park Golf Course, a name it has to this day.
As you can see in the photo above, the course consists of numerous narrow fairways, as well as a regulation 18-hole course, a pro shop, a three-hole junior golf course, a restaurant, and a sizeable driving range.
While it's commonplace to find newer golf courses surrounding Colorado's ski towns high in the Rocky Mountains, Overland Park Golf Course is unique not just in the fact that it's so old, but its location in the city with mountainous scenery offers a truly unique experience.
