Um, excuse us. We're the most fun in our opinion, but according to WalletHub's 2021's Most-Fun States in America ranking, we're the sixth.

'There are certain states where fun is not just an option but also a way of life,' WalletHub said. 'With pure enjoyment in mind, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of a jolly good time that won’t break the bank.'

OK, so ranking sixth out of 50 is actually really good. We are the state with a lot of beer and weed, music festivals, Rocky Mountain National Park and Casa Bonita, after all. Colorado did rank number one in the 'most skiing facilities per capita' category, but it tied with five other states.

The report also said that Colorado ranked 11th in movie theaters per capita, 11th in fitness centers per capita, and seventh in casinos per capita.

Our neighbors to the north in Wyoming were a bit farther down the list, at number 34 out of 50. However, Wyoming ranked second in the 'best access to national parks' category, and surprisingly, Colorado did not. Despite having four national parks, Colorado ranked 18th, and that's probably because it's so hard to get into them lately (sadly).

Who's having more fun than we are? According to WalletHub, it's California, Florida, Washington, Nevada, New York and Illinois, in that order. WalletHub also said that the five states having the least fun are West Virginia, Mississippi, Delaware, Arkansas and Rhode Island.  You can see the full report from WalletHub here.
