Move over Luke Combs, Justin Timberlake, because just last week our friends at Colorado Mesa University just released a music video for "The Future is Now."

The song was created as part of a collaborative effort across the entire campus welcoming kids back for the spring semester which starts on Monday, January 25. The song was created by staff and students and is all about showing support for each other and it also talks about COVID and the pandemic.

While the song is fun and if you do want to know more about the specifics as far as what CMU is doing to keep staff and students safe with their return to in-person learning click here.

And GREAT NEWS, if you share this video on your Facebook page and use the #FutureIsNowCMesaU you will be entered for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship to CMU for you or a current or future Maverick. The deadline to share the video online is Thursday, February 4th.

Okay, let's be real, this song isn't going to #1 on the charts anytime soon but it is pretty cool that our local university is having some fun and doing something positive to welcome students back to campus. Whoever came up with this idea, it was a good one. And kudos to all the students and staff who helped make it happen.
