In fact, research shows that Colorado is among the seven most impenetrable states in the country for numerous reasons.

Why is Colorado One of the Most Impenetrable States in the Country?

Most of the seven least-penetrable states share one undeniable feature: harsh landscapes. For example, states like California, Washington, and Alaska all have rugged mountains. However, with Colorado essentially being split by the Rocky Mountains that form the Continental Divide, an invasion would likely prove to be problematic for the foreign power.

Another characteristic shared by most of the seven states lies in its military presence. Not only is Colorado home to the United States Air Force Academy, but the city of Colorado Springs alone has Fort Carson, Peterson Space Force Base, and Schreiver Air Force Base.

In addition, military supplies would be easily accessible via the presence of Lockheed Martin in Colorado.

While the Rocky Mountains would undoubtedly serve as an inconvenience for a foreign power invading the country, the fact that Colorado is landlocked with two major interstate highways would eliminate a sea invasion with easy access for support from troops stationed in neighboring states.

The other six states listed as the least penetrable include California, Washington, Alaska, Virginia, Texas, and New York. For a more comprehensive explanation, check out the YouTube video from The Military Show here.
