Hop Aboard the Lost Futuristic Colorado Hover Trains of the 1970s
There's no question that we've come a long way in the past several decades. It's easy to watch an episode of The Jetsons and point out the things that we have today, like video phone calls, but also ponder why it is that we don't have flying cars.
Perhaps that's on the way, but back in the 1970s Colorado was integral in the testing of what many call hover trains, a concept that has been adopted in countries like Japan and China, but never quite took off in the United States. No pun intended.
Instead of becoming a part of everyday life in the country, the project that involved these futuristic trains was aborted, and a few of the prototypes have actually been sitting, collecting dust, right here in the state of Colorado.

The Lost Colorado Hover Trains of the 1970s
Back in the late 1970s, the United States Government began a project with the ultimate goal of implementing futuristic hover trains as a mode of transport for citizens across the country.
These hover trains were tested in Pueblo, Colorado, and were eventually deemed unreasonable for different reasons and the project was abandoned.
Speaking of being abandoned, three different types of prototypes of these hover trains have been sitting abandoned at the Pueblo Railway Museum for decades.
It may come as a surprise that you can actually visit the museum and check out these hover trains in person, but in the meantime, you can see them with your own eyes below:
