Prior to opening its doors as the massive hotel and restaurant we know today, The Cliff House was a stagecoach stop that saw a number of famous faces roll through including United States President Theodore Roosevelt and actor Clark Gable.

Upon opening in 1874, The Cliff House was the second-largest hotel in Manitou Springs and could host a staggering amount of people with its 100 rooms with even more vacancies following an addition sometime later.

Other notable guests that have stayed at the Manitou Springs Cliff House have included Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, P.T. Barnum, and the infamous Buffalo Bill.

Today, the luxury suites look much like they have since the hotel was built over a century and a half ago and the restaurant is widely known to have some of the best food in the area.
