The ARTery + How Grand Junction’s Art Scene is Expanding
A walk down Main Street in downtown Grand Junction, Colorado, can be a magical experience accompanied by numerous music venues, art galleries, and shops. In addition, the streets are lined with a variety of art installations, including a man in a bathtub, a giant, round frog, and more.

Downtown Grand Junction is also home to the city’s signature First Friday Art Walks, where local art is put on display in numerous locations.
While the local art scene is already nothing short of vibrant, Grand Junction will soon be home to another art-centric hub in the form of what will be known as the ARTery.
Grand Junction’s Art Scene + The New Art Hub: The ARTery
The ARTery will be located in the historic 5,900-square-foot building located at 539 Colorado Avenue. The project is being spearheaded by the Grand Valley Creative Alliance and is set to open its doors sometime in 2026 officially.
According to the Grand Valley Creative Alliance’s official website, The ARTery will be a “dynamic community art studio” and will “provide affordable, professional-grade collaborative workspaces and hands-on workshops.”
The ARTery will provide working space for artists who work in numerous media, including ceramics, fiber art, and printmaking.
There will be a total of four studios, three of which will focus on the above three types of media, with the fourth being a community studio that will be available for local artists to rent.
