A driver in Colorado was recently caught living out his dreams of being in the newest Fast and the Furious movie, being clocked in at going 149 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone.

Well, I'm not sure about the Fast and Furious part necessarily, but he was driving way too fast and recklessly.

The driver, whose name has yet to be released, was driving down 6th Avenue in Lakewood near the Simms exit going well over the speed limit. I'm actually very familiar with this area, as my grandmother and uncle live pretty closeby.

The Lakewood police caught the man and made sure to remind the public that even though we're under quarantine because of COVID-19, that does not mean that citizens do not have to follow laws. If convicted, the man could have his license suspended and will lose 12 points off of his license.

I realize that these are very crazy times that we're going through, and honestly, because of what's going on I do tend to get flashbacks from the movie "The Purge," in which the government allows one night a year in which there are no laws in place. However, it's important to remember that regardless of how weird this year has been, laws still do apply and doing things like this man did are very dangerous and put other, innocent people at risk.
