Research shows that according to surveys that were conducted in 2023 and 2024, the majority of Colorado residents either seldom attend church or never attend church. While this is the highest figure for each of the states that border Colorado compared to other categories, it was reported that around 59% of Coloradans seldom or never attend church.

The research also shows that around 20% of Coloradans attend church at least once per week, 7% of Coloradans attend church once or twice a month, and 14% attend church a few times per year.

How Often Do Colorado’s Neighbors Attend Church?

Over half of the residents of Arizona and Wyoming also reportedly seldom or never attend church, with 51% of Arizona residents claiming this and 55% of Wyoming residents revealing that they seldom or never attend church.

In New Mexico, that figure drops to 47%, 44% in Oklahoma, 43% in Utah and Nebraska, and 40% in Kansas.

In Arizona, 26% of residents attend church at least once per week, 34% of Kansas residents attend once per week, 26% of Nebraskans attend once per week, 25% of New Mexicans attend once per week, 35% of Oklahomans attend once per week, 23% of Wyoming residents attend at least once a week, and a whopping 41% of Utah residents attend church at least once a week.
