The study, which was published by a website called The Getaway, lists the 20 cheapest places in the nation in which to retire.

While some parts of Colorado, like Aspen, Vail, Telluride, and even parts of the state’s capital of Denver, are widely known to be expensive, Grand Junction stands apart as one of the cheapest places to live in the state. However, it should be noted that the cities on the list are just that, cities, and small towns are not included in the study.

Grand Junction, Colorado, is One of the Cheapest Places in the Country to Retire In

On a national scale, the study shows that Grand Junction is listed as the fourth-cheapest city in the United States when it comes to retirement. Not only that, but the study from The Getaway refers to Grand Junction as “A nature lover's paradise” and having a cost of living 4.4% lower than the national average.

What Cities Are Cheaper to Retire in Than Grand Junction?

While Grand Junction is listed as being the cheapest city in Colorado in which to retire, it is not the cheapest in the country.

While fourth place is impressive, Grand Junction is more expensive to retire in than the third-place city, Hot Springs, Arkansas, the second-placed city, Prescott, Arizona, and the cheapest city in which to retire in the country, Decatur, Alabama.
