Buckle down, Colorado! Another batch of snow is in the mix. Just when you thought it was spring, Mother Nature pulls the rug out from underneath you.

It is Colorado after all, and we do experience all four seasons in a single day.

I decided to see what the worst snowstorms were in Colorado's history, and here's what I found.

December 1913

On December 1, 1913, Colorado was hit with a massive snowstorm with snow burying the Denver area under 47.5-inches of snow. Luckily, the storm was only a couple days long but still caught most residents off guard. It is still the biggest snowfall in Colorado history.

November 1946

It was one of the worst storms since 1913 dumping 30.4 of snow over a two day period. It was a slower time back then and just maybe people were enjoying some of the snow spending time with family indoors playing games.

December 1982

Christmas Eve 1982 Colorado got a very early Christmas present 23.2 inches of snow dumped down on Denver. The good news since it was Christmas Eve most people were home at the time. The bad news last minute Christmas shoppers were out of luck

October 1997

Colorado gets dumped on again with 21.9 inches of snow. As usual, the Denver Airport closed leaving many passengers stranded sleeping on the Airport floor.

March 2003

Another epic snowfall when most Coloradans were thinking springtime. Nature had another idea. In March of 2003  Mother Nature unloaded  31.8 inches of snow.
