A rubber band on the faucet, plastic wrap on the toilet seat, a whoopee cushion, switching sugar for salt, and a caramel-dipped onion are all classic April Fools Day pranks.

With the first day of April falling on a Saturday, office pranks may be limited. So watch out at home for bugs in your ice or the "honk and wave at me" sign on your car.

Turns out Coloradans are big jokers. According to Gambling.com "Colorado is the #5 state that loves to joke around." This could be practical jokes, comedy, or goofing around with friends. Perhaps all the sunshine makes us feel a little more jolly.

So, what states enjoy humor more than Colorado? Illinois was number 4, which makes sense because Chicago is home to several big comedy clubs including The Second City and Laugh Factory.

California is number 3 which must also be because of the sunshine and definitely because the ocean has all the powers to lighten any mood.

New York is number 2 which makes sense because there is access to all kinds of entertainment.

Coming in number 1 is Nevada, home of Las Vegas which is a city that also has every kind of entertainment, but also somehow takes everyone's inhibitions upon arrival.

According to the History Channel, April Fools Day got its start around 1582 when the Gregorian calendar was adopted by France, meaning the new year started on January 1. People were slow to get the news and were still using the Julian calendar which put the new year around April 1. These people "became the butt of jokes and hoaxes and were called “April fools.” These pranks included having paper fish placed on their backs and being referred to as “poisson d’avril” (April fish), said to symbolize a young, easily caught fish and a gullible person."

I love a good joke and a good prank, just think it through.
