The CalWood fire in boulder county quickly became the largest fire in the history of Boulder County. The fire continues to burn and has currently scorched over 9,300 acres according to Boulder County Operations Center.

Boulder Office of Emergency Management gave an update to the fire on Tuesday morning informing residents that the fire is currently 17 percent contained. The containment area is along the east edge of the fire on the Highway 36 corridor.  Aircraft has been heavily used to help battle the fire on the north edge of the fire.  Aircraft are being used whenever possible when conditions allow.

KDVR has released footage of a family escaping the CalWood fire in their vehicle. This tense footage shows the blaze all around the family attempting to escape.
