Pilot Killed in Blue Angels Crash from Durango Colorado
A Blue Angels F/A-18 Hornet crashed near Nashville, Tenn. today (June 3) killing one pilot.
During a practice flight for the Great Tennessee Airshow, Marine Capt. Jeff Kuss' F/A-18 Hornet crashed off airport property just after takeoff around 3 p.m. (EST) just south of Nashville in Smyrna, Tenn.
The Blue Angels were practicing for their performance which would have taken place June 4 and June 5 but has been canceled due to the deadly crash.
Marine Capt. Jeff Kuss was originally from Durango, Colo. and graduated from Durango High School in 2002. He graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2006.
Kuss joined the Blue Angels in Sept. 2014.
This crash happened just after the Thunderbird crashed in Colorado Springs during the Air Force Academy graduation.
