In case you're not familiar, Bicycle Day takes place on April 19 each year and commemorates what was likely the first time that a human being consumed LSD that he synthesized himself and, well, went on a bike ride.

The man was a Swiss chemist by the name of Dr. Albert Hofmann, and in years since, the anniversary of his famous bike ride is celebrated in an effort to destigmatize the use of psychedelic drugs.

One of the most famous faces at Colorado's Bicycle Day was comedian Reggie Watts, who is shown on camera calling the event "one of the most important days in the world that I just found out about last night.”

Watts is later seen riding in a cart being pulled by a bicycle amongst countless other cyclists recreating Hofmann's iconic ride through downtown Denver.

In addition to the bike ride, Bicycle Day included speeches from a number of guest speakers, meditation, and even a rave at the famously trippy Meow Wolf.

The event was primarily put on by PORTAL, "a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with/ a mission to destigmatize the responsible use of psychedelics."

PORTAL encourages those curious about the effort to destigmatize psychedelics to visit their official website.
