Between the Buried and Me Unleash Music Video for ‘Lay Your Ghosts to Rest’
Between the Buried and Me released a true masterpiece with 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence' in 2012. The group is well known for composing long, rich pieces of progressive metal, and this is displayed beautifully in BTBAM's new music video for the near 11-minute track, 'Lay Your Ghosts to Rest.'
On our 10 Best Metal Albums of 2012 list, 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence' came in strong at No. 1. BTBAM's 72-minute album is the sequel to their 2011 EP, 'The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues,' which first introduced the characters featured in 'Future Sequence.'
Although the two are connected, Between the Buried and Me view 'Future Sequence' as the far greater achievement. "The EP, if you had to describe it in a word, it was a little rushed," guitarist Paul Waggoner recently told us. "We had a time constriction and that was something that we weren’t used to, we were used to being able to expand on ideas infinitely, you know? I think we’re just not an EP band. We have to have 70 minutes of potential time."
The new video for 'Lay Your Ghosts to Rest' was filmed in three locations: the Baltimore Sound Stage, the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, Tenn. and the Orange Peel in the band's home state of North Carolina. The new clip differs from the space bound 'Astral Body' video, although 'Lay Your Ghosts to Rest' follows 'Astral Body' on 'Future Sequence.' Thus, you can take a trip out into the galaxy before heading back to Earth when watching the two videos back-to-back.
