Beartooth Says Backstage is Nothing Like Motley Crue's

If you've seen Motley Crue's The Dirt and are wondering whether the majority of bands still behave in similar manners after the show, now's your chance to hear the truth from one of them. Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo recently spoke with Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez about their post-show routine, misinformed press and how he judges a band's live performance.

Shomo's seen The Dirt, and while he thought it was wild, the singer denies that he and his band participate in a similar manner while on tour. "I mean, at least the people I usually hang out with — it is nothing like that. That is just absolute madness, debauchery and chaos. I feel like for me, it's more of just like drinking beers and hanging out. It's rarely like people snorting ants off of a puddle of piss." Well, no one said Ozzy Osbourne was a straight-edge character.

The conversation then takes a dive into the press territory, and Shomo reflects on whether he can recall a time something wrong was written about him. If you've read his Wikipedia page, you'll be relieved to know he said the majority of it is true, aside from a few small things. "But I remember I did some interview for somebody, I can't remember for the life of me. But essentially, they told me, or they put in the [story] that I have like, a ridiculous car and that I spend most of my time watching Game of Thrones on a giant plasma screen, and all this random stuff. I was like, 'Where are you getting this from?'" he laughs.

He continues, "I hadn't even watched Game of Thrones at the time, I do now. I don't know, I think they were just trying to make me out to look like some ridiculous, money-blowing rockstar, and that is pretty far the opposite from what I usually do...But other than that, I think that people are usually pretty on point with me."
