Check Out the Awesome Pumpkin Chunkin’ in Olathe

Last Saturday's14th annual Punkin Chunkin Festival was a huge success! Hundreds made it out to DeVries Produce for the annual benefit for The Olathe Volunteer Fire Department. This video is the next best thing to being there!

These contraptions are incredible! The time and money invested are substantial. According to a local "chunker", he says "it's a labor of love." I've been to a few chunkin events before but not this close. We got to slip right up behind these amazing cannons.

There were several categories in the morning long competition. There was distance, which the Death Star from Boulder was the easy winner, accuracy, and more.

It all ended with a barrage of flying pumpkins. A fitting end to a great day!
