Black Friday is back as more companies decide to close on Thanksgiving.

Shoe Carnival is the latest national chain to declare Thanksgiving sacred again and will be closed for the holiday. That helps the "Bring Back Black Friday" cause as more and more stores return to the tradition of closed on Thursday but then open on early on Friday.

It is with great pleasure that we show our gratitude and appreciation to all Shoe Carnival employees with Thanksgiving Day off for them to spend time with family and friends,” said Cliff Sifford, President, and CEO.

Shoe Carnival does remind customers if they want to jump the gun on the weekend's holiday shopping they can do so online. Shoe Carnival will be open at 6 am Black Friday with it's traditional "Doorbuster Deals." The first 100 in line will receive $10 to spend on the in-store deals. Show Carnival in Grand Junction is located at 632 Market St.

Who's next? Only time will tell but it does appear that retailers' experiment of opening on Thanksgiving Day is fading and Black Friday is back!
