No one expected 2020 to be this crazy of a year, but we just keep learning to adapt and make the best of each situation we are faced with this year. And this unusual and annoying pandemic is not going away. As we are learning from CBS 4, that Vail is now considering a mandatory face mask zone.

The issue was being discussed in a regularly scheduled town council meeting last night in the Colorado ski town. Earlier this year when the first wave of the pandemic hit, the town of Breckenridge put in a mandatory face mask zone throughout the summer months. Aspen, Colorado has already voted to extend their face mask mandate until June of 2021.

And as all Colorado residents know masks are already required for indoor gatherings, events, and restaurant visits put in place in July by Governor Jared Polis. Polis has said he wants to leave decisions in the hands of local health officials but he continues to extend the health orders he put in place as cases of COVID-19 continue to increase across our state.

Only time will tell if more Colorado towns and cities start implementing mandatory face masks, let's hope COVID-19 numbers start to decrease so we don't have to worry about this moving forward.

As a decision is made for Vail on whether face masks will become mandatory, we will be sure to let you know.
