It's kind of hard to know how one should feel about this kid's reaction to receiving his Christmas present. On the one hand, it's kind of cute, and not at all surprising, he's a little disenchanted with getting books. On the other hand, though, one can't condone his ungrateful attitude. Do we chuckle, or do we tell him to shut up?

Judging by the comments on the post, most people agree with the latter.

Oh, he's gonna grow up to be a Genius, and his parents are amazing parents. Encouraging that kind of behavior with their laughter, I wouldn't be surprised if they die alone because they raised such a selfish child and encouraged such behavior." - jbizzle557

"Okay, first off I realize there's no talking to you liberal parents in a child-centric universe, but the brief and shockingly intelligent and un-innocent look this child flashes at the camera after he stands up, shows plainly that, as is the case with most children these days, he knows no boundaries on his behavior! News Flash-- children have to be TAUGHT right from wrong! As anyone who was a child remembers (were you?) you'll always do what you can get away with! Merry Christmas everyone." - iceblueagle1

One post went on to bring up the 13th Ammendment and slavery. We're not entirely sure how they took off on that tangent. There were, or course, posts in support of the young man and his family.

Why don't you do your homework instead of assuming they're bad parents. From what I saw on the Today Show, they raised him right and he reads books every night. He even said he loves books. They're just an innocent family raising their kid. I highly doubt they were looking for an over-analysis from creeps like you." - sparkclark393
