Alter Bridge may be working on a new album this year, but it looks like fans will have a chance to reflect on the band's past before the new disc drops. The group revealed in a posting at their website that a new box set is in the works for a May release.

The band has launched an official website for the box set, and there is a video teaser trailer (watch below) with quick flashing images teasing the release date, which is May 14. The site itself also has a countdown to May 14, with a running clock on the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the collection's arrival.

Alter Bridge offered their first album, 'One Day Remains,' in 2004, followed by 2007's 'Blackbird' and 2010's 'AB III.' The release dates for all of those albums flash in the box set video teaser, along with the release date for the band's 2011 'Live at Wembley' collection. While nothing is confirmed as of yet on what the box set will contain, it could be assumed that it will be comprised of all of those releases or at least selections from those discs.

The band recently regrouped to begin work on their next studio album. Guitarist Mark Tremonti has revealed that the plan is to spend the next few months putting the disc together, with talk of the group returning to the road this fall to support the effort.
