Sometimes, we don't have the time or money to get outta dodge for more than a day or two. Here are a few places, close to home, that you get to quickly yet still feel like you're far, far away.

Ridgway, CO

Chipeta Sun Lodge from $159

We always hear about our friends and family traveling to Ouray, CO. Try visiting Ouray's sweet next door neighbor, Ridgway. This cute little town is one of my favorite places. You can relax at the amazing pool at Chipeta Sun Lodge, go for amazing hikes, and visit my favorite place in the area, Colorado Boy Pub and Brewery.

Montrose, CO

Canyon Creek Bed and Breakfast in Montrose, CO is absolutely adorable. They host comedy events, concerts, and have an amazing staff that makes you feel right at home. Plus, they're right down the street from the Horsefly Brewing Company. Win, win!

Crested Butte, CO

Old Town Inn from $129

Most of the time when we think Crested Butte, we think "expensive ski town." Let the charm of Old Town change your mind. Check out their farmer's market, shops and restaurants, and my personal favorite, Montanya Distillers.

Glenwood Springs, CO

Hotel Colorado from $149

No list of Colorado recommendations would be complete without this beautiful town. There is some construction on the exit, but you can still get there and have a fabulous time! Hike up to Doc Holiday's Grave, visit the hot springs, and make sure to stop by Juicy Lucy's for some amazing food. I will warn you, though, it's rumored that the Hotel Colorado is haunted by some friendly ghosts. Be sure to tell us if you spot them!
