Popular Colorado Amusement Park Closed and Sadly Sold Off
Heritage Square was an amusement park located just outside of Golden, Colorado from 1959 to 2018.
Home of the Alpine Slide
The park was perhaps most well-known for its 'Alpine Slide,' a slide that took attendees on a one-of-a-kind ride down a mountain. The slide was so large that before it was torn down following the park's closure, it could be easily spotted from the highway below.
The End of an Era
Unfortunately, after almost 60 years of fun for the entire family, Heritage Square closed its doors for good in 2018. Following its closure, all of Heritage Square's rides and games were auctioned off, leaving the area as a barren skeleton of its former self.
Remembering Heritage Square
Fortunately, we are still left with fond memories of Heritage Square including the aforementioned 'Alpine Slide,' the rides and games, and the mural depicting parts of Colorado such as Red Rocks, Golden, and the Denver skyline.
