Colorado has thousands and thousands of places to stay. How about a list of seven of them that you should have on your list as we head into a new year?
Colorado hotels range in variety from very fancy, to very cheap. It all depends on how much you want to spend, or maybe how much adventure you'd like to insert into your travel plans. Visit Colorado has seven that you may want to keep handy.
WHY THESE SEVEN?
In Visit Colorado's winter 2022/2023 brochure, they list seven hotels in Colorado that have recently been "revamped." What better way to make some travel plans than by staying at a place that cares enough to renovate things?
Maybe these place have been in need of "revamping" for a long time, or maybe they just needed some "sprucing up." Whatever the reason for their renovations, they have gone through the effort, so checking out the list is the least we can do.
STEAM TRAIN HOTEL - ANTONITO
Located not far from the New Mexico border, the Steam Train Hotel, which dates back to 1911, is very near the Cumbres and Toltec Narrow Gauge Railway.

THE BROWN PALACE - DENVER
If you were needing a better reason to stay at the legendary 130+ year-old Brown Palace, the fact that they've recently revamped, is a good one. The Top two floors, the "Top of the Brown" sleeping rooms are the rooms recently redone.
HOTEL COLORADO - GLENWOOD SPRINGS
Hotel Colorado is absolutely the most wonderful place to stay in Glenwood Springs. Why not stay there when you check out those hot springs.

CLUB HOTEL - IDAHO SPRINGS
The Club Hotel dates back to Colorado's mining "Gold Rush" days. In one of the hotel's incarnations, it was named Hanson's Lodge, whose sign still resides outside while they renovate the whole property.
MAX HOTEL - LAMAR
The Max dates back to being an art deco hotel in the late 1930's. Today it is a hotel that has furnished apartments; there is also a trendy bar downstairs.
DELAWARE HOTEL - LEADVILLE
As old as Denver's Brown Palace, the Delaware in Leadville really takes you back to Colorado's Gold Rush mining days, as gold was first discovered in the area only two miles from the hotel.
THE WESTERN - OURAY
The Western, which went through extensive renovations during the pandemic (2020-2022,) dates back to 1891. You'll find that renovations kept the "Old West" saloon and dining hall, as you stay in very beautiful Ouray.
