A 60-year-old Grand Junction woman was arrested for point a rifle at some kids in her neighbor's yard.

Mesa County Sheriff's deputies were call to the 600 block of Middleridge Court in Grand Junction after being called a woman was pointing a rifle at the kids in her neighbor's yard.

Deputies identified the suspect as Cheryl Pifer of Grand Junction, who told deputies she knew why they were called on Sept. 10.

Cheryl told the officers she was upset by the way some of the children were behaving -- in their yard.

The officers located the weapon -- a 7mm Mouser -- but no shots were fired and no one was injured.

Cheryl was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time and was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on four counts of Felony Menacing, seven courts of Reckless Child Abuse/No Injury and one count of Prohibited Use of a Weapon.

Cheryl was given a $5,000 PR bond today and is scheduled to appear next in court on September 19, at 8 a.m.
