It's the 1st Annual Chili Cook-Off at Village Fair. Our friends at Berkleys Upper Cuts is throwing a party in the parking lot raising funds for the Kids Backpack Program.

It goes down this Sunday, April 23rd from 12 to 5 pm. If you can make a mean pot of chili we need you to enter the contest. Perhaps you just love eating the stuff, we need to you there too!

The corner of 12th & Patterson is where to be this Sunday. If you've got a killer chili recipe then pony up the $30 entry fee and join the fun. Prizes awarded from 1st, 2ed, and 3rd places. $100 goes to the Grand Champion of Chili! Participants must provide their own propane set-up and at least 10 quarts of chili. Give Berkley Upper Cuts a call and let them know you'll be participating, 970-243-4310.

If you're like me and enjoy eating the stuff, a $5 admission buys your ticket to sample all the various chilis and cast a ballot for your favorite. I'll be doing a 95 Rock live broadcast from 12 to 2. You can sign up to win Everclear concert tickets and maybe score a 95 Rock t-shirt! Again, it's all for a great cause, the Kids Backpack Program. Many children go hungry on the weekend because mom and dad are at work, are absent due to their own addictions, or simply don’t have enough money. It's reason enough to come out and we'll see you there.
