When Shopping at a Florida Wal Mart, Don’t Forget the Body Armor

Around 12:30 in the afternoon 42-year-old Eddie McKee went in to his local Wal Mart to do a little shopping. McKee started stacking steaks and ribs into his cart, then tried to leave without paying for the some $200 of meat. A loss prevention officer tried to stop him; McKee ditched the cart and ran from the store pushing down a woman as he ran to his car. That’s when things got interesting.

As McKee ran from the store Jose Martinez spotted him and join in on the chase. Martinez told police he didn’t know why McKee was running from the store but thought he should stop him. McKee made his way through the parking lot to his car, got in and started to drive away.

This where Martinez pulled his 9mm handgun out and shot 4 to 5 times at the car as it drove away. Martinez told police he didn’t want to kill McKee but wanted to mark the car for police. Keep in mind all of this took place in a Wal Mart parking lot at 12:30 in the afternoon. Martinez, who has a concealed weapons license, was charged with aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle. He’s lucky he did kill someone.
