I know it's the Monday after a long holiday weekend. You're way too busy catching up at work to even think about the upcoming weekend. However, I wanted to give you an early heads up so you'll get to The Mesa Theater in downtown Junction. This Friday night The Boys of Summer are in town!

First, let me say I'm not a fan of tribute bands. However, there a few out there that do it very well and The Boys of Summer are one of those bands. These guys are an Eagles tribute band. Let me also say I've seen The Eagles several times, including the 1995 "Hell Freezes Over Tour" and The Eagles are one of the most talented bands of all time.  I know they don't exactly "rock", but what they do, they do at the highest level. For this group of guys to take on the monumental task of emulating that band, I had to take a closer look.

The Boys of Summer are James Williamson, drums-vocals; Darrel Monson, guitar-vocals; Craig T. Fall, guitar-vocals; Chris Turbis, keys-sax-acoustic guitar-vocals; and Jerry Schaeffer, bass-vocals. Cool too is that James and Jerry are both from Grand Junction!

These five life-long friends and musicians recreate some of the most iconic American music ever made. Each member has decades of professional experience and brings the musical heart and soul of The Eagles to life with every performance.

Again, you may be asking yourself why is this rock radio guy talking about this show? I get it, it's not Buckcherry. It IS a quality show and let's face it, when it comes to music, that's what matters most. So make plans to catch the show this Friday night. Get your tickets in advance and save yourself $5. We'll see you there!
