What happened to the three statues and their pedestals at the West entrance to the Alpine Bank building in downtown Grand Junction? Have they been stolen?

Where the foyer once included three sculptures on giant round pedestals, now only three stained rings remain. It would take King Kong to pick up and move these structures. Where did they go?

The statues disappeared sometime middle last week (between August 7 and 13). I asked one of the clerks at Alpine Bank if she knew their whereabouts. She hadn't even noticed they were missing.

Following a phone call to Robin Brown with the Grand Junction Downtown Authority, the sculptures' location became known.

It seems Alpine Bank will be doing some renovations at the west entrance of their building. The statues, created by Dave Davis, have been temporarily placed in storage. Eventually, the statues will be relocated the Mesa County Central Library just a little further down 5th Street.
