We invite you to tease your taste buds with delicious award-winning wine and dance the night away to Restless Heart at Western Slope Uncorked at Powderhorn Mountain Resort on August 1.

This is your chance to discover over thirty-five finely crafted wines made in the heart of western Colorado’s fruit-growing country August 1. Here are a few wineries and their featured wines you won’t want to miss out on:

Talon Winery is a family owned Palisade winery known for big classic wines. Their Cabernet Sauvignon won gold at Denver International Wine Competition and is well-received by local restaurants. Their Rosato is another gold award winner, which is pink in color and best served chilled. Crowds love the Talon Riesling with flavors of peach, jasmine, and pineapple.

Debeque Canyon Winery, in Palisade, is the first vineyard to "establish a large block of Merlot vines in the state." Bennett Price, viticulturist and owner of Debeque Canyon Winery makes extraordinary wine. He’s been in the wine business for many years and is an expert in his field. Preferred by many is their gold medal winning vintage Cabernet Franc, it's full-bodied and barrel aged for two years. Another noteworthy wine is their sweet Riesling with notes of peach and apricot or distinctive Syrah Port aged over eight years!

Garrett Estate Cellars will serve limited release wines, only available at festivals and their tasting room. Their dry Gewürztraminer, which means spicy grape in German, is one that people try and immediately love! Gewürztraminer is not sweet wine, but more complex and dry with spicy citrus notes. Their award-winning Pinot Noir and Syrah are better than before. Three years of aging and they've made a comeback after "bottle shock." They're fantastic!

St. Kathryn Cellars are known for their fruit flavors, which comes from a variety of fruit and produce used when creating their wine. It's 100% fruit juice fermented into wine; unlike, other wineries that use a grape based white wine blend. You can try varieties of peach, cherry, blackberries, strawberries, and many others. An interesting favorite is their Lavender wine; locally grown lavender introduces a mildly sweet and unique flavor.

Come join us at Western Slope Uncorked and raise a local glass to breathtaking views filled with fluttering aspen leaves and bright green meadows!
