As God as his witness, Mr. Carlson was certain turkeys could fly. Unfortunately, what ensued, the alleged "Radio Event of the Century," resulted in what would go down as a day of infamy. Do you remember this tragic, and yet hilarious, scene from "WKRP In Cincinnati"? Did you see this episode when it first aired?

Our roving reporter, Les Nessman, five-time winner of the Buckeye News-Hawk Award, had no idea the carnage he was about to witness. For that matter, neither did the poor unsuspecting citizens of Cincinnati.

When it is all said and done, is it possible this catastrophe could have unfolded a little differently?

There you have it. Take from someone who's worked in radio for 20 years, this scenario represents EXACTLY, and I mean EXACTLY, what it's like to work at a commercial radio station.

Happy Thanksgiving. Maddening as the holidays may be, I sincerely hope yours unfolds a little smoother than it did for the crew at WKRP.
