Comedy recording artist Weird Al Yankovic is bringing his craziness to Grand Junction.

Weird Al is best known for his parodies including "My Bologna", "Eat It", "I Love Rocky Road" and has the distinction of being the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time.

His "Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour" comes to the Avalon Theatre on May 3, 2018. The reason I bring it up now is because tickets go on sale Friday at 12 noon, and if you want to get the best seats possible,  you will want to get your tickets sooner rather than later. Ticket prices are $46.50, $56.50, and $69.50.

This particular tour promises to be very unpredictable. Weird Al says every night will be different - "loose, maybe a bit sloppy.......making it up as we go along."

So, while you're likely to hear some of Yankovic's big hits, there will be plenty of non-parody material and more obscure tracks. But, still, we expect all of the weirdness of weird Al.

No matter how you slice it, this will be a fun and funny night. The opening act will be the legendary comedian Emo Phillips. Phillips has performed in concert specials for HBO and Cinemax, including several late night televisions appearances including David Letterman, Conan, and Arsenio Hall.
