This is not your garden variety triple play.

During Kentucky's game against Louisville on Tuesday, the Wildcats managed to stave off a Cardinals rally with a 7-2-6 triple play that was as beautiful to watch as it was rare.

Kentucky was up 5-0 in the second inning when the Cardinals were threatening with runners on second and third and no one out. Out number one was a routine flyout to Marcus Carson in left. Out number two was recorded when Carson cut down the man on third trying to tag up at home. Out number three went down when Kentucky catcher Troy Squires fired a missile to third to get the runner trying to advance from second.

The defense was perfect and keyed the Wildcats' 11-7 victory. And considering the 'Cats pulled off the feat against their biggest rival, you just know it was even sweeter.
