Two bike riders from out of state were rescued from the North Fruita Desert Recreation area. The riders were lost around Edge Loop last night.

The bike riders were not from Colorado. They ran out of daylight and got lost, so the Mesa County Search and Rescue ATV team were called. According the Mesa County Search and Rescue ATV team's Facebook, things did not appear right on their maps.

This is not their first time making a rescue from here, the search and rescue team is familiar with this area. The area around Edge Loop on Ross Ridge can be confusing and dangerous.

The Mesa County Search and Rescue ATV said:

We were glad to bring the riders back to safe grounds.

I'm sure that wasn't a good feeling being stranded in an unfamiliar place in the dark. I'm glad they're safe!

Always be aware of your surroundings, including the amount of daylight you have.
