Western Slope on Tap is coming up on Saturday, March 14, and here are three beers that I think are must-tries at the event.

Durango Brewery

First on the list is the award-winning Dark Lager from the Durango Brewery. This isn't your dad's dark beer. The American style dark lager has the color but not the bite of a dark beer.

Durango has done a great job of building a deep colored beer with a medium body They also light hop the beer so it doesn't have that heavy after taste that most dark beers have. Win several awards to its credit the Durango Dark Lager it a must sample.

Moab Brewery

Second for the IPA fans the Moab Brewery Red Rye IPA is a must. I have had this brew a few times and it is darn good. Unlike most IPAs that are heavy in hops, this beer has a good body with a smooth finish.

That isn't to say it has no taste, but Moab does a great job of blending the zest of the rye with the bite of the hops. It has a caramel finish that all beer lovers enjoy.

Kannah Creek Brewery

Finally, you must try the Crossed Irons from Kannah Creek Brewery. This is a great American take on the traditional Irish Ale. With a nice malt flavor and smooth finish, this is one of my favorite seasonal beers in the valley.

Kannah Creek only does this in the spring so while it is around you must try it. I promise if you enjoy beer this one should be at the top of your list when you get to Western Slope on Tap.
