Time To Fly High
I've always loved to fly. Ever since I was a kid, flying has intrigued me. If you've ever dreamed of taking to the skies, the Mesa County Library can help you get started.
That's right, the library. Find out what it takes to acquire your pilot certificate at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 7th at the Mesa County Libraries Central Library, 443 N. 6th St. in Grand Junction.
I'm giving you plenty of notice so you can schedule in the time for this special presentation. Learn what it takes to obtain a private, or sport, pilot certificate from Library Assistant Tim McGreer. He's been through the program and has been flying for about three years. Tim will cover the steps that he took, the steps he should've taken, and what resources are available in the Grand Valley and at Mesa County Libraries to help you get started. The one- hour program will cover the following...
-How to obtain a Sports Pilot Certificate
-How to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate
-What Medical Ratings you'll need
-Suggestions about how to pay for the full certification
-The future demand and pilot shortage in the workforce
-The time and effort required to attain the desired pilot rating
The presentation is open to the public at no charge.
