I realize that winter is six weeks away, but that doesn't mean we can't have winter weather. And even though Western Colorado escaped the brunt of the cold front that swept into the state, I think we caught a glimpse of what winter looks like.

Yes, we were lucky here in Western Colorado, it could have been a lot worse. But, even though we didn't get the snow and the 40 degree temperatures below normal, Monday was a sign that the season is changing. This was not an ordinary sky. This was Old Man Winter moving in, ready or not.

It's been a great Autumn on the Western Slope. Mild temperatures - often times above normal - have been abundant. So, even though we have six weeks to go until winter, I'm happy. I can't complain. I've had plenty of golfing opportunities, but the sky on Monday told me it's time to put the clubs away for the season. I'm done. I don't want to be, but you can't fight against Mother Nature.

So I put them away, and the next day turns out beautiful! How was I to know?

But, I'm done with golf for the season, it's time to move on. The sky speaks. I'm listening.
