I like to think I've learned a few things in the past nine months that I've lived in Grand Junction. A few months wiser, here are some things I've learned so far.

Moving 1,934 miles away from everyone you know is definitely a learning experience. I moved to Grand Junction from North Carolina about nine months ago and wouldn't change a single thing. Except for maybe the cost of living, I think everyone would enjoy if that came down a bit.

What in the World a '14er' Is

I had no idea what a '14er' was until I moved to Colorado. I thought it was a term to brag about a hike or bike ride. 14er doesn't mean miles, it means a mountain over 14,000 feet high.

    Front Range Assumptions

After I moved to Colorado, everyone assumed that I moved near Denver. There are other places in Colorado other than Denver. I guess I just needed to give them a geography lesson.

    Here Fishy Fishy

Since I've moved to Grand Junction, I have rediscovered my love for fishing. I've caught my first trout and crappie since moving here. I can't wait to see what else will be at the end of my line.

    Coloradans Are Cool

There's truly something special about the people of Colorado. Coloradans are super nice and have a more laid back mindset. I'd say Coloradans are pretty cool in my book.

    Marijuana Means Money

Moving to Colorado from North Carolina opened my eyes to the marijuana industry. It's a legit industry that will only continue to grow and rake in that marijuana money.

    Costs to Colorado

Since I moved to Grand Junction, I found out the cost of living in Colorado is most definitely higher than it was in North Carolina. It costs to live in Colorado, but it is so very worth it.

    Love Knows No Distance

I've learned that love truly knows no distance after I moved here. Anyone that cares and loves you enough to see how you're doing, will. If they don't, they're not a priority.

    Animals Are Absolutely Necessary

Ever since I moved into my place, I felt like something was missing. Until I adopted my cat, Jax. Animals bring such good energy in your home and make you feel like you're never alone. Now I can't imagine life without my Jaxy boy.
