‘The Wizard of Oz’ Gets a Prequel

One of my favorite movies is getting a prequel, The Wizard of Oz. On Sunday we took our nice to the movies to see Frankenweemie and there was trailer for the new movie Oz the Great and Powerful. Now, I will say at first I was a little ticked off.

I think The Wizard of Oz is a great movie and in my mind there is no way or reason to remake it. So, when the trailer started I thought to myself “What in the Hell-Why Remake a Classic”?

I watched the trailer and found this is a prequel to the original. This movie is the story of the wizard (played by James Franco) and how he gets to Oz. I must say it looks great and as a big kid I will go see it. It even has the Flying Monkeys and really who doesn’t like the Flying Monkeys. The movie doesn’t come out until March of 2013, but if you like the Wizard of Oz I say mark the calendar for this one.
