‘The Walking Dead’ Season 4 Spoilers: How Will The Governor Return?
From the moment fans of AMC's 'The Walking Dead' realized the Governor would live through season 3 finale "Welcome to the Tombs" and menace Rick Grimes another day, questions arose how and when David Morrissey's character would return in season 4. This past weekend's epic Comic-Con season 4 trailer left out the character entirely, so how will the Governor make his comeback when the new season starts this fall?
Executive producers have been cagey about revealing when and where the Governor might return, only teasing that the character would pop up when Rick and his fellow survivors least expected it, but TVLine uncovered a surprising bit of intel with regards to how much time we'll spend with the Governor this season.
Evidently, at least two episodes of the coming season are billed as ”standalone Governor” episodes, both potentially falling in the first eight episodes of the season. The character was last seen driving off to destinations unknown with henchmen Martinez (Jose Pablo Cantillo) and Shumpert (Travis Love) in tow, while recent rumors have suggested we may also see the deposed Woodbury leader looking a bit more haggard this season.
While we wait for season 4, the next run of ‘The Walking Dead’ will introduce ‘The Wire’ star Lawrence Gilliard, Jr. as haunted Army medic Bob Stookey, while actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney have all been upgraded to series regulars. An additional casting report resembling three major 'Walking Dead' comic characters also recently rounded the rumor mill, but has yet to be confirmed by any official sources.
Well, what say you? Are you interested to spend entire episodes with the Governor to see what he's become since season 3? How do you hope to see the renewed conflict with the prison play out? Watch the Comic-Con trailer below, and give us your 'Walking Dead' season 4 predictions in the comments!
