I finally made it up on the Grand Mesa Sunday. First stop was Powderhorn and a check of the place. A friend of mine owns a time share so I had to drop in and see things for myself.

The place was pretty quite on a Summer Sunday afternoon. Nice though and much cooler than the 100-degree heat of the valley. There were several mountain bikers catching a ride on the ski lift to test their skills on the trails. Even though I didn't have a bike, I still had to hop the lift to the top.  Wow, what a view!

After the trip up and down the lift, it was back in the truck and across the top of the Mesa. With the smell of pine in the air and the cooler temps, I had the windows down and took in the beautiful meadows, lakes, and trees. Winding over the top I finally made it to the other side and the view of the valley.

Breathtaking. I can't wait to head back up for some fishing and spending more time. I understand the Aspen begin to turn in September. I hope to have made it back a few more times between now and then. See you up top!
