The Great Walmart Oreo Caper – What is a Suitable Punishment? [POLL]

The Plantiff: A Walmart store in Indiana.

The Defendant: 63-year old Penny Winters, Walmart maintenance employee and alleged cookie thief.

Penny Winters, an $11.40 per hour Walmart "maintenance employee", i.e. janitor, has been charged with not only eating a stolen cookie, but eating MULTIPLE stolen cookies. Yes, you heard right... multiple cookies.

Winters was arrested earlier this week following an internal investigation. What clue tipped off investigators as to the alleged cookie theft? An empty cookie wrapper.

According to the Portage Police Department, the cookie wrapper wasn't the only evidence. Surveillance video showed “Ms. Winters select the package of cookies, open it, and proceed to consume multiple cookies during her work shift.”

Chicago CBS affiliate WBBM reports that Winters claims she stole the Oreos because she didn't earn enough money to purchase them legitimately.
