Wine Enthusiast names the Grand Valley a Top 10 Wine Destination.

You already knew this but helps make it official, The Grand Valley and Grand Junction were just named a top 10 wine destination. Not just in the US, but in the world! To be named among the "world's best" in anything is pretty impressive. For local vineyards, wineries, and cider producers to be counted among some of the worlds best, that's pretty cool.

Wine Enthusiast Magazine just named Grand Junction a top 10 spot to sample wine and ciders. "This is an incredible honor that Visit Grand Junction has been working towards for some time. A little bit of backstory is that we pitch to a lot of editors, we work with a lot of journalists to get them to come out because earned media is very valuable to our marketing efforts", says Mistalynn Meyeraan the Marketing & Publications Coordinator for Visit Grand Junction.

This kind of exposure and recognition can only mean more tourists coming to the Grand Valley. The big draw isn't just the quality of the wine but the lower cost of vacationing here. "We're a very affordable destination, and we do position ourselves as that so we have the quality yet we don't have the price that typically comes with that being in Colorado. It's a surprise to a lot of people that they can stretch their dollar here and spend more time here", says Meyeraan.
