The "Godfather of modern rockabilly" is coming to The Mesa Theatre next Thursday, February 16th.

The Reverend Horton Heat, aka Jim Heath, is a living legend. A sound that's truly impossible to label it's best to ask the band "country-fed punkabilly" is what they call themselves. It's a mix of country, punk, surf, big-band, swing, and rock with some humor tossed in for good measure.

Aside from the music, the most asked question is "How did you get the name?" "Well, there used to be this guy who ran this place in Deep Ellum, Texas who used to call me Horton- my last name is Heath," says The Rev. "Anyway, this guy hired me and right before the show he goes, 'Your stage name should be Reverend Horton Heat! Your music is like gospel"

Whatever you call him, the music, or his crazy on-stage antics, what it is is really good! This band's been playing gigs since 1985. Hailing from the Big D, The Rev has a diverse fan base and a devoted cult following, not to mention the respect of musicians worldwide. It's another great show coming to Junction.

Also, don't forget Royal Bliss tonight! Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show is at 9 p.m. Support live music and we'll see you at The Mesa Theatre!
