Tis the season to...run!  Parks and Recreation are teaming up with The Kiwanis Club of Grand Junction for an event that will benefit grand valley area kids.

Indeed, this event is all about kids! All participants will receive a Santa hat and beard to wear during the race. We encourage you to complete the costume with style! How cool will it be to see the "Santas" take down the trail! For kids under 12, there will be a 1K option. 1K runs begins at 9:00 am and the 5k will begin at 9:15am. Packet pick up is Friday, December 16, 8:00 - 4:00, at the Parks and Recreation office at 1340 Gunnison Ave. or on race day beginning at 8:00 am. Confluence Shelter is at 715 Struthers.

For those not familiar, Kiwanis Clubs, located in 80 nations, help their communities in countless ways. Each community’s needs are different—so each Kiwanis club is different. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things happen. Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Members stage nearly 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$100 million every year for communities, families, and projects.
