Why couldn't teachers be this cool when we were in school?

A parent shared this image of a note sent home by her daughter's teacher on Facebook, wow, did it take off. Since being posted, it has been shared over 60,000 times and has been picked up by reddit where it's received thousands of comments.

The teacher explains that she did some research and didn't find any proof that homework improves a student's performance. Rather, she'd love to see her students spending more time with their family -- eating dinner, reading together, playing outside and going to bed at a decent hour.

The fact that the only "homework" a student will have is what they didn't finish in class makes perfect sense. It's not every day a "working adult" has to do homework, only when they couldn't finish what they needed in the office.
