TCAF Golf Series Comes to GJ

I have struggled to get psyched up for the 2013 golf season because of some mechanical issues in my swing that have left me hitting the ball like a four-year old. But I think I have found the motivation to get my swing fixed and get to the golf course. The Tee Off For Testicular Cancer National Golf Series is coming to Grand Junction, and I plan to be there.

Part of the motivation has to do with the fact that this benefit golf scramble is held at the Golf Club at Redlands Mesa. Playing this course is such a treat - even for hackers like me. You may not hit the ball like a pro, but it is so much fun to play on a pro-level type of course. I want to do as little hacking as possible, so I want to be ready to go when we tee off on June 1.

Once again this year  there will be a special VIP party the night before on May 31st at Allen Unique Autos that participants will want to take advantage of. The evening includes food, drinks, classic cars, and a special program delivered by the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation.

The TCAF was formed in 2009 right here in Grand Junction by Kim Jones, who's son, Jordan, was diagnosed with testicular cancer while he was in high school. Overcoming bleak odds, Jordan is a survivor, and the TCAF is committed to educating young men about the importance of early detection, and also to support those who are affected by the disease.

Grand Junction is one of five cities in this golf series to benefit TCAF, and will feature guest appearances by PGA Professionals Rick Woodson and Todd Barranger.
