The Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks began play for Lord Stanley’s Cup, which begs, who is Lord Stanley and what is up with his Cup? The first Cup was awarded in 1893, making it the oldest of the four major North American sports.

Tonight the Boston Bruins visit the Chicago Blackhawks, two of the original six teams in the NHL, to begin play in the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals. For the second time in as many games, the Boston Bruins beat the Pittsburgh Penguins to take a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. I must say I’m shocked. Just a few days ago I picked the Penguins to win this series in six games. While this could still happen, I don’t think so.
